The Official Royal House of Sori®

Prince Abdulrahman Ibrahima ibn Sori (1762–1829) is recognized as the patrilineal ancestor associated with The Official Royal House of Sori®, which serves as a custodial institution preserving and honoring his legacy and heritage.

About Us

The Official Royal House of Sori® (TORHOS) is a cultural and historical institution dedicated to preserving and interpreting the legacy of Prince Abdulrahman Ibrahima ibn Sori and the history of the Sori dynasty, exercising custodial and cultural sovereign authority within its governance, under the leadership of its President, whose lineage is historically associated with that of Prince Abdulrahman Ibrahima ibn Sori.

TORHOS advances its mission through the preservation, documentation, and scholarly interpretation of historical records, oral traditions, and material culture associated with the Sori dynasty. Its work situates these histories within the broader cultural and historical landscapes of West Africa and the African Diaspora, including the traditions and contributions of Fulani, Mandinka, and related pre-colonial societies, as supported by available evidence.

To support this work, TORHOS is developing a centralized digital repository of curated and authenticated historical materials related to the Sori dynasty and its broader cultural context. This repository is intended to provide reliable access for scholars, educators, and the public, in accordance with applicable legal and ethical standards. TORHOS does not engage in the verification, certification, or determination of individual lineage or claims of descent, and its role remains focused on the preservation and presentation of historically supported information.

Through academic partnerships, cultural initiatives, and public programming, The Official Royal House of Sori® promotes rigorous historical inquiry, cultural preservation, and informed public engagement, serving as a bridge between past and present.
